Climate Change and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources
The effects of climate change will manifest in Maryland as sea-level rise, urban flooding, shore erosion, water stress on farms, and hotter urban environments. Led by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (MDNR), state agencies are using science to increase understanding of the potential impacts climate change may have on the region. MDNR developed a Building Resilience to Climate Change policy, and is using it as a guide in land management, facility, habitat restoration, resource planning, and research decisions.
